The Distinguished Alumni Awards Program is a time-honored tradition at Sonoma State University. The award is a symbol of achievement and success presented to distinguished alumni from among SSU's six academic colleges. In addition, distinguished service awards are given to exceptional alumni faculty and outstanding alumni university staff members.

The Distinguished Alumni Awards honor those who have made significant contributions to Sonoma State University, Sonoma County, California, nationally or internationally.
